Were there any circumstances that influenced the survey? 
Yes, there was a local beach cleaner group who cleaned the beach that weekend, but don't collate the data or have anything to do with us. We have published our dates with yourselves, the Brighton Mayor and on our sites and newsletter. However they seem to refuse to respect our 3 year project.
