For plastic/polystyrene pieces 0-2,5 cm (OSPAR ID 117) and string and cords (OSPAR ID 32) the 100m beach was divided in a transect. The transect size counted was 5x30m, which accounted for about 7,5% of the area. The number counted was multiplied with a factor of 13,33. A 25 m long pile of seaweed washed up on the beach was full of pieces of marine litter. The largest pieces were counted. Then we took a 5 m long (20%) transects where all the small pieces were counted. The number counted was multiplied with a factor of 5 (100%).
